I had today a cool idea and thought i should share it with you.
Since especially new servers have problems sponsoring itself. So i thought about a client+server mod that makes the Player´s Computer take some work from the server (like a BitCoin miner) So the server needs e.g. 8 GB RAM with 200 slots (which is cheap). For me it sounds impossible/i am not able to program it.
Tell me your opinion!

The upstream bandwidth of a home internet connection is usually very limited.
What might be possible is a client that generates the world locally, and the server only sends the blocks that differ from the generated map.
I don’t quite understand. You want some of the work load to be taken under by the client? If so, no. That should not be done in any circumstance. State invalidation, think of concurrency in this case. You also open the door for data being spoofed/faked/forged and this is not something we want.
