Question regarding the client

Do we require a different launcher/client to connect into Sponge server? If I’m not mistaken forge uses different one than the original.

Forge 1.8 will support vanilla clients, sponge will be built on top of the forge server if I recall correctly.

But at the moment sponge is planed as a server-side-coremod for forge.
