Ticking Player. Quantity cannot be greater than the max quantity

Heya Sponges! Lately had this happen one of our players. As he’s mining with (Yes, Pixelmon item…) Thunderstone armor(Which gives him Haste and Movement Speed) He somehow manages to screw with his player.dat file. When deleting all of the full stacks with NBTEditor it’s fine, until he goes mining again. We’re not really sure on how to identify the problem so we’ll provide a chunk of the spam and have the cunning people take a look at it! O.o
This is with spongeforge 1509.

Appriciate any help.
Emil.

Well, what’s happening is that Sponge is complaining about max stack size… for some reason, the player is fitting more than 64 items into one slot.

Personally, I think sponge shouldn’t have this check, just because a lot of mods, and even commands, bypass/use max stack sizes in different ways.

Does this happen when a specific block is mined? The crash report is hinting that a block is dropping more than 64 items in a single stack - it would be useful to know what blocks could be causing this.

The blocks that were being mined was Cobblestone the first time, Packed Ice the second time. The player achieved enough Efficiency to instantly break blocks though.

We’ve had this happen a few more times. Packed Ice seems to be the block mostly involved in this.
Any update on the matter? Running sponge 1528 at the moment.

  • a few custom mods completely unrelated to blocks, items or inventories.

Players are still getting affected by this. It would be fine if it warned and all. but the server just goes into this insane spam and has to be killed in order for it to stop.

It’s breaking the server completely.

Any ways of removing that quantity state check?

Much love. Using latest sponge

Got same problem. Using pixelmon and additions too.

Not meaning to bug anyone. But this is something critical. It’s basically unplayable with our 50+ players.

Sorry for the long delay. I’m working on a fix for this now.

The issue should be fixed in this commit: https://github.com/SpongePowered/SpongeCommon/commit/7245f0a89ad57d8b531d4c314095894bab391cd9

SpongeForge 1566 and above will include this fix.

Big thanks Aaron1011!
