1.9 Prerelease 1 :)

I won’t say anything. Just check for yourself: http://mojang.com/2016/02/minecraft-19-pre-release-1/

And so it begins…

Why did this remind of the same line used in Lord of the Rings? :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s a giant nightmare updating servers and plugins to work for newer versions of Minecraft.

So by saying “And so it begins…” I meant, “And so the frustrations of updating begins, sooner than I thought”.

Also note that there’s a release date for 1.9!

We are currently planning to release the final version of Minecraft 1.9 next week, on Thursday, 25th of February 2016.

Woo I could not get into a new world that I created until I updated my Intel driver.

Sponge hasn’t even reached beta yet :frowning:. But yeah we still need to wait on forge to update as well.

“HD” Graphics master race :stuck_out_tongue:?

Optimus master race (Intel HD + Geforce that is) :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder lets say forge somehow updates in a month and 1.8.X support isn’t done. Does that mean sponge will drop full 1.8.X ? I mean modpacks are just starting to get alive for it :stuck_out_tongue:.

I do not think so. I think sponge can have a parallel development.

Well… Forge already has a 1.8.9 build…

I’m not sure if we’ll maintain 1.8.9 and 1.9 at Sponge. This was discussed by staff before, but i can’t remember the decision that was made  At least for 1.8 vs. 1.8.9 we decided to drop 1.8 and go with 1.8.9 only.

The major difference between 1.8 vs 1.8.9 and 1.8.9 vs 1.9 is that 1.9 is a major release and not just another bug fix release
