I have a question regarding spongeforge. does it need sponge api in order to even work? Just curious
Yes, SpongeForge needs SpongeAPI to work however SpongeAPI is included in the SpongeForge .jar file.
From a users perspective you only need forge+SpongeForge or SpongeVanilla. The API is shipped within these two.
ok. also, since spongeforge has to be put in the mods folder in order to work, if i were to add plugins to my forge server with the help of spongeforge, will people also have to download the plugins or will the plugins work normally as if they’re placed in the plugins folder?
Plugins will work normally. The users dont need to download anything unless you use a forge mod that requires it.
We only put the plugins into the mods folder. They’re still plugins like you’re used to when using bukkit. So no, a user isn’t forced to download a plugin from anywhere.
However there are plugins out which provide an optional clientmod to make configuration and usage easier. They will of course work without the clientmod
