There has been a few chat related plugins released but I haven’t seen a simple chatclear plugin.
These are the features that I feel would be ideal for a chatclear plugin:

  • Global Chat Clear
  • Personal Chat clear
  • Clear on Join
  • Timed Interval Clear

Just out of interest why do people want plugins like this?

Especially the global / timed interval clear?

You can already do this by doing F3 + D

Too much work, would rather type out a command than press 2 buttons…

well the biggest feature out of this is

  • Clear on Join
    due to being hooked to a hub; it gets messages from both servers when you join. ie. the MOTDS, etc. Its just nice having a clear chatbox when you join the server.

Global chat clearing is useful for when the chat gets spammed; ie. advertisement links. someone can just clear the chat and get rid of the offender. Timed interval isn’t all that important; I’m just basing the plugin ideas around other spigot chatclear plugins that have this feature. I personally don’t have a use for it. I for one did not know f3 + D and others might not either.

Then they should do some research; or you could put it in the same place you’d otherwise put the command.

still could use a plugin like this. especially for when players join the server through hub and the hub has info on it.

I’ve left out the clear interval feature because I find it really annoying.
If you really want this feature you can run the command periodically with some sort of scheduler or other plugin.
