Crashes related to Mixin or Spongeforge

Hello, I was trying to make a modpack for a me and a friend of mine, and everything is compatible, had a few problems with Obfuscate by MrCrayFish but I just removed the mod. And as of now, the thing works really well except sometimes, for no reasons at all, I get a massive crash with this line comming out :

org.spongepowered.asm.mixin.injection.callback.CancellationException: The call func_94095_a is not cancellable.

I haven’t installed either Spongeforge nor Mixin, and in the crash log it is mentioning a Chest Minecart and an Abstract Minecart.
I also snooped around in the config file located in AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/versions/1.16.5-forge-36.2.39 , there is a config file talking about installing SpongeForge. Does Forge automatically install it ? Can I remove it ? Or maybe it is a mod that is causing the crash ? I can’t find help anywhere so I hope you can help me.

Mixins isn’t something you install but instead is provided by another mod (Your the second person this week to think you as the admin install mixins, so is there a thread of miss information somewhere?)

Sadly the nature of mixins means that means the mod owner is responsible for any and all incompatibilities amd sadly also due to the nature of mixins, it does not report the mod or even give a hint at what mod(s) crashed due to a issue with mixins.

The good news is it is somewhat easy to find out what mods have mixins, however I don’t believe there is a program that can do it for you so its manual.

Some people dont response (and probably dont read the response) so thats why i did half

The easiest way to detect what mods use mixins is to take a look inside the file of the mod and see if the folder is there for mixins

You can open a mod folder with any zip opener program (if your on windows you can change the file from a .jar to a .zip) such as WinRar, WinZip or 7Zip

Once your viewing the contents, take a look for the folder

org/spongepowered/common/mixins/

If its there then there is a good chance the mod uses mixins, if not, its not got mixin issues

If you find the mod in question, they may have a solution on there website (or github) so you can still have the mod with mixins

I will also say mixins aren’t a bad thing to have, they allow control that a lot of mods want, however other code like mixins can conflict with one and another resulting in crashes like this

Also I would like to know where this idea that mixins are something you as the admin install came from. Just so i’m aware of it and if i can, contact them to amend the statement

I don’t really know, I just “understand” programation language, and but like, I have the most basic understanding of it, and I thought that like, it had been installed by accident or something, since it mentions a .jar file I thought I slipped this thing in by accident.

As of now, I found a lot of Mixins, mainly in Yung’s better mods, and Tough As Nails…
You don’t really need to do it, it is rather quick, I just right click it, open the archive and take a quick look for an org folder or a mixin thingy

When i said org/spongepowered/common/mixin i meant that as a path, not as either of these folders

Ill create it, even if you dont use it, next time someone comes here with a mixin error, they can use it

The possible culprits are there in the stack trace. ModLauncher includes an audit trail for which transformers touch a particular element and you can see from this line right here in the original crash:

   at net.minecraft.entity.item.minecart.AbstractMinecartEntity.handler$zlo000$killMinecart(AbstractMinecartEntity.java:1459) ~[?:?] {re:mixin,re:classloading,pl:mixin:APP:quark.mixins.json:AbstractMinecartEntityMixin,pl:mixin:APP:cold_sweat.mixin.json:MixinMinecart,pl:mixin:A}

This shows quark.mixins.json:AbstractMinecartEntityMixin and cold_sweat.mixin.json:MixinMinecart are the mixins which are relevant to the crash.

Oh awesome, thanks ! So, what do I need to do ? Do I need to remove one of the two mods ? Or maybe deactivate a mixin ?

Personally i would check on both the sites for either

an update (and hope it fixes the issue)
a fix for the crash

But first i would temporarily remove the mods and see if there are any other issues
