haven’t post here in a while so a few thing
Today I had some major lag spike issues when players were joining and leaving. When I thought it was Sponge I went and removed every mod I hads on the server and added them back in one by one with the help of my friend leaving and joining for me. I had a Botelbock set to a redstone repeater and I listened to the pace that it was going at. Everything was fine with all the mods and the Noteblock kept its pace. Only until I installed EssentialCmds and the Noteblock took 5 seconds before the note can play when I told my friend to join and leave. I removed it and continued with the other mods and when I finished there was no mods left but EssentialCmds. I got these two videos showing what we did.

Also I know a major change in startup time. I know this is not a big deal but it does take way longer with EssentialCmds installed and without it installed. Thanks for reading and hopefully there can be a fix to this soon because this is only with one person. Just imagine this with multiple people at a time.
Unfortunately, there has been many reports of essentials causing some massive lag.
I don’t believe much has been done about it since nucleus is in process.

Also, if the timings in Sponge are not working for you, I’d suggest using WarmRoast, which is a helpful tool to track down the issue. 
That said, it’s really useful to know what is causing such lag. Some code will be replicated in Nucleus, and while I’m trying to keep a lot of logic off the main tick loop, I might make the same mistakes EssentialCmds does.

Alright, so I looked into the issue, and it appears there may be issues with how EssentialCmds is using MySQL, I am going to be looking into the issue further tomorrow, but until I find a solution, I recommend all users who are having this issue, if possible, to stick with SQLite for now.

Why?
Because Sponge and Spigot are way different. It’d be easier to just code another Spigot-based plugin instead of porting this one.
Only because I’m running Spigot for now and there don’t seem to be any “Essentials” plugins for Spigot that are as simple and efficient to setup and use as this one here. Makes me a tad jealous

yeah i know this sound bad but it is and its complete,but essentialCmds is coming its way and with the new Essential plugin coming soon i cant wait 
Theres no official Essentials for spigot.
Spigot-Essentials, the official plugin for Spigot, isn’t going to be continued after the 1.8 release. All of the many, many alternatives that exist for Spigot vary greatly in both quality and complexity. I love EssentialCmds because it does what I need it to do and can be set up in a very short timeframe. If you know of an Essentials plugin for Spigot that is remotely similar to EssentialCmds, I would greatly appreciate a link
spigot-essentials is not an official Essentials release by any means. Its unsupported and contains many bugs.

I am using Sponge Vanilla 1.8.9-4.1.0-BETA-293, PermissionsEx v2.0 [API 4.0], EssentialCmds [v8.0.7]
It’s only a small private server for me and my friends!
Everything works perfect for us! We can set homes, warps, time, create new worlds and so on! Have to say great!!
There are only on thing that doesn’t work for us! It is not so important but I would like to know the error.
If I type /help all commands shown up page 1. If I want to go to next page with /help2 or /help 2 nothing shown up. Error!
Same prob with /homes /warps. Can’t show the next page! Any idea?
The next thing is a Pex Problem but maybe someone got a idea for this.
I set some groups! Admin with all rights, Default with no rights, and some child groups: member, vip and so on.
Set my self to Admin! Fine so far. /promote and /demote is working with ladders! Every Player is set correct in .jason

If I type /list every player is set correct! Me not!!! It says that I am in Default group. But I am not! If I type something in chat I will see my prefix Admin and I have all rights. ??? No Idea!!!
I set in .jason that every Player how is joining the first time is set do Default.

All you do is use your mouse to press the arrows at the bottom.
Press t, then use your mouse and click the arrows.
