Hi there !
Do you know if I can add a 7.1 API version plugin on a 7.2 API sponge/forge server ?

Yes you can.

So how versions work in sponge is there are typically 3 numbers (7.1.0, 7.2.0, etc). If the first number matches and your server number as a whole is higher then the plugins (or the same) then its compatible.

For example.

A 7.1.0 plugin is compatible with 7.2.0 server. However a 7.1.0 server is not compatible with a 7.2.0 plugin.

Another example.

A 8.0.0 plugin is not compatible with a 7.0.0 server nor is a 6.1.0 plugin.
