Indie Games that look cool! (Pixel Art)

Hey,

I really thought it would be fun if we could organize a sort of list of sexy indie games you can try whenever, be it on the go, while you are bored, or waiting for something. It doesn’t have too be released yet and it does not have to be recent (gotta love retro). The only rule you have to follow is that you put up screenshots of the game (even a GIF if you are up to it ;)). Here, let me start by giving a few:

##[Shovel Knight] [1]##
An OBVIOUS choice is [Shovel Knight][1], I played a bit and I loved it. This game brings back the feels of NES games back then and it fits with the gameplay and plot perfectly so whether you want to play for a bit or you are trying to speedrun a game this is a good one.

##[Proteus] [2]##
[Proteus] [2] is almost like a whole new genre of games. Its a audio-visual game about exploring and discovering a 3D world built entirely in pixel art. If its not for the gameplay then I am definitely putting this game in my list because it’s BEAUTIFUL and quite very original than any game today. Games like this one might not be everyone’s cup of tea but honestly if you have nothing to play, give it a go.

This game isn’t out yet but I know it will be my favorite rogue-like of all time. Nothing but the gifs are enough to tell me this game will be awesome and there is no other way of describing the game than the one on the site. “Experience sci-fi tactical combat and exploration in a procedural world that combines traditional roguelikes with an immersive modern interface like no other.”


Alright, this is just a scratch on the world of indie games. I promise I have more to come on this thread. If you find a cool game don’t forget to post it. :smiley:

I bought that game. It’s not really a ‘game’ where you can interact with the world. There is no goal, and nothing to do. You just walk arround. I would not pay more than a dollar for that game :wink:

SMBX (free)

There is a Super Mario Clone called ‘SMBX’ for PC. It was made a long time ago by the maker of Terraria, and features many Nintendo characters and sprites from many different nintendo games (not only Mario).

There is also a 2-player-coop mode (on one screen).
