I was in England some months ago. Sun shined all day long and even food was all right, do not trust this prejudices 
I (German) saw France, Italy, Austria, Belgium and Switzerland, but I’ve never had this “Woah, somehow, it’s even better here as where I live” feeling before.
…what a pity we failed to annex it

It’s called democratization
The United Nations once started a poll: “Please give us your honest opinion about a solution for food scarcity in other parts of our world.” Nobody gave a reply, because:
The Africans didn’t know what food is,
In eastern Europe, nobody knew what “honest” means,
In western Europe, nobody knew the meaning of “scarcity”,
Chinese people didn’t understand what an “opinion” is,
In middle east, nobody understood the word “solution”,
The South Americans didn’t understand the word “please”,
And in the USA, they asked themselves what “other parts of the world” could mean.
