Can someone make a clear PermissionsEx 2.0 tutorial? I’m unable to make myself owner or anything and I have almost no permissions, but even in console it says “Too many arguments!”. I am too unaware of how to work with this new PEX setup.

https://github.com/PEXPlugins/PermissionsEx/wiki/Command-Equivalency gives a more direct mapping from PEX1 to PEX2. However, I’m waiting on making a more complete tutorial until PEX2 is actually finished, so that the tutorial doesn’t have to be constantly updated to take into account changes.

to make yourself default to having all permissions, do /pex user TheQuickSpeed def true (same for group/whatever)

What pex dev build are you guys using? i cant find a working build, im on sponge 515 and forge 1487

You are quite a few builds behind – latest is 525, use that build with latest PEX.

thats soo weird because I’ve been getting contant crashes with sponge 525 and the latest Pex Sponge Jar, im still using forge 1487 because apperantly thats the build that sponge is built off of?

what jars are you using personally? that are confirmed to work?

I’m using 525 with pex and forge 1487. Could you paste the errors you’re getting?

When I place the jar in the mods folder and start it nothing happens on the server.

That’s an error that occurred because of an error earlier while loading PEX. Could you post the full server log starting from the latest server start?

np. I guessed that was what happened but got kinda deep in implementing some cool new features for PEX (ip-based permissions sound exciting?) and forgot to respond, so sorry about that.

Same as PEX1.x, you’ll need an external chat plugin. I recommend FeatherChat – afaik it’s also the only chat plugin that currently supports PEX prefixes
