How big of a lurker are you?
shrugs I don’t have much else to do at work (besides work). I refresh the page every once in a while. Probably every 30 minutes.
EDIT: Moved this to Meta, as it’s discussion about the forums themselves.
When I get bored ill flip back to the sponge tab very frequently. Its pinned on my chrome.
I’m a neckbeard that has no life and lives in the basement so every 30 seconds (although someone didn’t add a choice for that apparently)
ehh, i just check to see how progress is going every few weeks, that’s about it, i wish they did state of sponge more often.
While this would be nice, in a way, the events would likely contain less useful information. They do it once a month because, throughout that month, information has piled up and there are actual talking points.
Often.
I stalk the latest convos every day, but I rarely have anything to add ^^"
Feeds help a lot. But mostly my routine is this.
startup --> read the 500 unread messages on skype --> checking following http://tweakers.net/, http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/, https://spongepowered.org, http://www.webupd8.org/ and http://www.space.com/. --> Than go to github (If I don’t forget it) --> repeat (without starting up again xD)
Almost my routine too. I prefer other sites…
I do it this way:
startup → start FF, IRC and Thunderbird → goto http://hardwareluxx.de http://golf1.info (yes, i’m a car addict) and http://passat35i.de (car addict… ) → check mails, if a github mail was sent → goto github
repeat.
And if i’m bored at university: check sponge and irc via mobile
Now that I’m on vacation, I check the forums very regularly (every 30 minutes or less if I’ve interacted recently).
I don’t follow any other specific sites very actively: I read the news on my phone, I let Google show me those super-interesting Google Cards, which are always about something I’ve searched recently, and I also get all the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram notifications on my phone.
About the email, in the morning, I just check my phone, and during the day, my phone vibrates in my pocket saying there’'s new mail to read, so, I never check my email, it checks me
I try to get on once a day but sometimes that doesn’t happen. I log in to GitHub on a few hour basis though
