Server Crashing on Start When Mods Added?

When ever I start my Sponge Server with mods installed, it crashes. I tried importing a mod I made and it keeps giving me this crash log:

This is a mod error, not a sponge error. Because Sponge is server only, no rendering takes place, and the package net.minecraft.client does not exist. This is exactly what forge proxies are for, so that you only register certain renders while on client side…

Honestly… read your stack traces, according to said stack trace, this line is the offender.

You could, but it’s not a huge thing, and should be fairly easy to fix, I personally found Mr. Crayfish’s modding tutorials quite helpful and up to date (as of 1.8).

It’s okay. If by “Stuff” you mean Java, or even just stacktraces, I highly suggest you look into tutorials and try some practice projects without any API. I can’t stress enough the importance of understanding OOP concepts and Java convention before using an API (such as forge) which doesn’t necessarily use the same techniques, concepts, or conventions.
