Sponge and CodeChicken mods dont mix sadly. You could try Sponge Bootstrap but I dont think that works either. If it doesnt then you have the choice of CodeChicken or Sponge.
Actually, the CodeChickenLib is needed for a few mods afaik (eg EnderStorage iirc) , and does work with Sponge.
What may be the root of the problem is the Caused by: java.util.zip.ZipException: Not in GZIP format. That looks more like a corrupted save file or something.

@Inscrutable is correct. Your level_sponge.dat file is corrupted; restore it from a backup or delete it if you have none.
