I have created a minecraft forge server running 1.8. I’m able to load a mod called the “Dalek Mod” onto the server just fine, and I’m able to load sponge onto the server just fine. But only when there are separate. When I start the server with both the dalek mod and sponge, the server crashes. I’m using the version of sponge compatible with 1.8, and the mod is also compatible with 1.8
I think it may have something to do with the mod and sponge’s biome generator conflicting, because this mod generates a few extra worlds and the server crashes as it is loading another dimension. Anyone know a way to fix this?
The mod I am working with is only compatible with Minecraft 1.8, not 1.8.9. Because of this I have to run Forge 1.8, not Forge 1.8.9, and the latest version of SpongeForge receives this error when ran with Forge 1.8:
The coremod org.spongepowered.mod.SpongeCoremod is requesting minecraft version 1.8.9 and minecraft is 1.8. It will be ignored.
Would this mean I can’t use a newer version of SpongeForge? If that is the case, do you see any way of fixing the error I posted in the PasteBin on my original post above? Sorry for asking all of these questions, but I really need this mod to work with Sponge.
Oh, I see, then yes. Unfortunately, you’d have to use the most recent SpongeForge version for that specific version of Forge 1.8 that you’re using for the mod. Unfortunately, since the move to 1.8.9 a few months ago, SpongeForge has not been updated for 1.8.0.
Even though I am unable to test this (as the Dalek mod is on 1.8 and SpongeForge is on 1.8.9), I noticed something that could potentially be problematic so I fixed it in this commit:
You’ll have to wait for the Dalek mod to update to 1.8.9 before we can see if the issue is solved. For now, use the latest SpongeForge for 1.8, build 1045 available at this URL: spongeforge
