Sponge doesn't create Plugin folder

Hi!
I am trying to set up a SpongeForge server on 1.12.2 I have the latest Sponge and the latest forge 1.12.2 build. The server starts fine, but even if I have the spongemod in the mod folder it does not create the plugin folder. Is there anything I am missing?

Currently (even in the current API 8 - MC 1.16) you put the plugins in the mods folder, therefore there isnt a plugins folder.

While I believe this can be changed in the sponge’s config, everything sounds like it’s working as expected
