I feel that stickied (erm, pinned) posts need a little bit more to differentiate themselves. Altered icon? Colorful background in the topic list? Obvious separation (decently thick line, etc) between the pinned posts and all the normal ones may be nice. I don’t really think the little teeny pin does much for me.

agreed. diff background is a good idea.

I think that’s done partly to combat sticky blindness.

Also because you can unpin posts for yourself, so they might actually be mixed into the default sort order.
