What are you excited for in Sponge?

Excited for Mojang not running Sponge hahahah…

I’m super excited about this project because I think this is one of the best ways for something like this to happen.

Sponge has the potential to unite some of the ‘factions’ or elements of Minecraft modding who had otherwise not really worked together before. I think this could really strengthen the community.

There has been very little drama and a whole lot of camaraderie.

The MIT license has nothing to do with violating Minecraft’s EULA though so keep that in mind…

I’m happy because there is a replacement for Bukkit.
I hope there will be also a Mac and Linux version :\

Wait… does this mean I don’t need to screw around with that dang YAML language anymore? Cause if so, good. Sick and tired of an outdated language that breaks if you miss a single space in a line of code.

You must be new here…

Personally, I am excited because this is a fresh start and finally bridges the gap that we had in the community (Bukkit/Forge) that Cauldron aimed to merge together.

I simply hope the inventory API is easier to work with then it was in Bukkit.

I am excited for the teamwork from Forge, Bukkit, and the other server mods together. With so many developers working together, I think this project will have a ton more power behind it than Bukkit even had. I am especially looking forward to seeing how Mods on clients and Plugins on servers work together!

I am excited for the bridge between modded servers and vanilla servers to be built. Now we are all one community and everyone gets to know everyone. With so many communities now forged ( :stuck_out_tongue: ) together so much more can done at faster rate and there will be such a larger pool of resources to use.

I know its been said before, but I’m looking forward to the combination of Forge and Bukkit. I’ve always wanted plugins and mods on one server, and now I can do it easily!

I just hope that there is some way to make it so that people without the specific mods that I have can still play. That was the only problem I ran in to with forge (My friends aren’t very computer savvy)

Forge plugins… Looks like minigames will get an upgrade if possible

I’m just looking foward to see how this project comes out to be and possibly start releasing plugins that I never released.
Also excited the extra plugin.yml was removed

I’m happy because as many poeple said : It’s a new Start for this project making possibility ++, But good luck for dev team  specialy @sk89q ( fan  )

I could never run a modded minecraft server without Cauldron. I want it back! (With the same or better performance, of course.)

I 'm happy to be leaving plugin.yml in the dust.
Also happy that Cauldron is irrelevant :stuck_out_tongue:

But no, the absence of Mojang’s sneaky fingers is not a plus. (What did they do badly?)

I’m excited for a fresh start. I always wanted to contribute something to the bukkit community, but every time I had an idea it was already made and discontinued. Since it’s a fresh start I can finally contribute something new

Really I just want to be able to give my server users the 1.8 experince I promised.

I’m excited for you guys. Cos I admired you clever, creative and generous young people from when I first discovered modding, for my son’s client. I’m excited that you responded to the Bukkit disaster positively and proactively; that you are battling on. It makes me even more in awe of the determination and good will in this! More power to you!
