What linux distro does everyone use?

but also giving up some of the features. :stuck_out_tongue:

I like Kali, and Tails.

Debian receives my love. I’ve completely moved off ubuntu for all my personal work after several horrifying upgrade experiences (where it insisted on removing critical components before upgrade)

I use Windows on my desktop and laptop, but have a server and a laptop standing on which I will one day install CentOS. My MC server is running on a CentOS, server, and I have two DO droplets - one running an IRC bouncer on CentOS and one running my forums on Ubuntu

arch on my personal laptop, lubuntu on the family machines and ubuntu server (headless) on all servers. no proprietary OS in my house, although i have to use win7 for my job.

I’m currently switching over to NixOS as my primary distro, but have used Arch for a few years up until now.

Ubuntu . (Can’t we make as “Show your linux setup thread?”)

I have MineOS Turnkey running my MC server on a dedicated machine. I also dual boot Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 14.0.4 LTS and I have a third PC that dual boots Windows 10 technical preview and Kali Linux!

Arch for desktop and server. Well I do like Ubuntu headless server. I use centos servers for work. I’ve toyed with as many distros as I can get my hands on. But I always come back to Arch. It’s the best for simplicity and customization.

May I ask what you use Kali for?

Archlinux on my main PC, Manjaro XFCE on my shitty laptop.

I’m seeing an awful lot of Arch and Ubuntu in this list.

Me, I started out with increasingly-heavily-customized Slackware, but currently all four of my Linux boxes (including my workstation and my MC server) run Gentoo. My firewall/router runs a Debian-based Linux on MIPS64, my wireless routers run Linux-based DD-WRT. The NAS box runs Solaris 10, because ZFS. Windows is strictly GameOS.

I’m using Arch Linux for development. The only problem I had with it so far was that I wasn’t able to find an easy way to install OpenJDK 6 on it

I use Windows 7 & 8 on my main pc’s, and Ubuntu on my dedicated server (It’s ovh ;-))

I use OS X, and I love it… so that’s all that matters to me. You can throw all the “bad” things about it in my face, and I won’t switch… because it does what I want it to do. I don’t consider myself an avid gamer, and the games I do fancy all support OS X. I don’t hate windows, I use that daily too, I really don’t object to any platform.

OS X != Linux . The only thing they have in common, is that they are unix flavors.

I’m using Zorin OS. It’s based on Ubuntu, but looks better

I run my linux distros on an external hard drive that I used YUMI multiboot to build. Currently it has Ubuntu, Kali, BTR3 (now unused), Trinity Rescue Kit, and Darens Boot Nuke. Ubuntu and Kali can expand their storage as needed for documents, applications, etc…

No  JK, I like messing around with it (that’s all I can say without breaking rules)
