I’m trying to put a “dynamic” image that changes over time but the forums keep changing it to a custom one from the server.
This is the notification I get http://gyazo.com/0ea8f9a0cd5e4d1679e96f08461de4b9 and the image being changed.
Can I solve this in some way?
Thanks.
upload the picture to the forums.
Can you upload the image via Dropbox, and then later switch the images (with the same file name, so the link stays the same).
But my picture changes overtime, every half an hour.
The thing is that I don’t want the server to change the link.
The image is provided by a server that’s not mine.
I suppose you’re out of luck then.
@FerusGrim, there is a fix to that?
I’m just a moderator. I don’t control the dynamics of the forum itself.
However, as far as I’m aware, there’s no way to make a single exception to this feature.
Thanks still. I will leave it here.
So far I know you need to use an https:// url to make sure discourse doesn’t download and host the image.

You want “disable image download domains” site setting.
warning: this will leak the IP of every forum user to the server hosting the images
Ferus said a way of making an exception for one file, not site-wide

It’ll be a “his site”-wide exception… any images he wants cached can just be uploaded somewhere else.
You could also add i.imgur.com
to the list, too. They’re pretty good about not having many deletions.
