I am Husk's lead developer here to clear up confusion and answer questions

This topics are boring.

Then go take a look at the off-topic. Fairly sure there’s a topic on cats, if that tickles your fancy. no need to be pessimistic.

Obligatory XKCD comic post.

Guys check out my extreme almost 100% complete cloud enterprise Minecraft API implementation

It is true cloud and has rainbows and unicorns but we can’t release it even though it’s open source because it uses top secret government software

Its okay tho we will release features on our cloud website. Are totally legit project, promise, I am enterprise experience (we write clean safe scrum code like GitHub - EnterpriseQualityCoding/FizzBuzzEnterpriseEdition: FizzBuzz Enterprise Edition is a no-nonsense implementation of FizzBuzz made by serious businessmen for serious business purposes.)

However, at this point in time, my API and server implementation are 100% as real and valid as yours. And no, your mappings are wack.

That may change, but think about it, that’s what your project effectively looks like. Buzzwordy vaporware. Do you have any plans to change that? How could Minecraft be ~ENTERPRISE~? Why even bother advertising and giving deadlines when you don’t even have redistributable code?

I agree, it is slowly turning into vaporware. I can wholeheartedly say we will not meet any ETA we have given.

You did claim earlier on /r/admincraft that it was basically completely functional. What’s stopping you from making a test server that has:

  • Everybody in creative mode (so 1.8 features, mobs, etc can be evaluated, nothing currently is feature complete in this aspect)
  • Essentials and CombatLog, common non-NMS reliant plugins
  • 40 slots

If you do that, people might take you and your project, well, seriously. If you can’t, well, your project doesn’t deserve anybody’s attention. You can’t claim even a month deadline without it actually demonstrably working. The test server won’t have any licensing issues, since you’re running and hosting it. It sounds like you’ve gotten it working, just getting rid of proprietary depends. Why don’t you build a working one and throw up a test server?

Great idea. Noted.

Personal deadline that shouldn’t be that hard to achieve: 3 days

Any more than that, and you’ve lost all credibility from me (and potentially a lot of other people). If you do succeed, well, at least the vast majority of people will start badmouthing you a little bit less, and you might potentially get some support.

Essentials doesn’t work quite right due to their o.b.c workarounds. Mind CommandBook as an alternative?

Works, but there’s a WE depend. If that’s stopping you, try RoyalCommands. And honestly, basic Essentials stuff doesn’t appear to rely on any OBC.

Event dispatch failed, added to bugtracker. It appears we have a broken hook :(.

What do you mean OBC?

Yeah, Essentials doesn’t even have CraftBukkit as a dependency…

he said source uncompiled just the source just copy the current build and when you make a big improvement in the devolepment put that version there!

OBC = org.bukkit.craftbukkit

Don’t see how release often have anything to do with the code being open source. True that many open sourced projects have many relases but it’s hardly something that is demanded.

About the source not being released early. That is up to the devs, isn’t it. I agree that calling it open source before the code even exists outside a closed group isn’t the way to handle it, all it really takes for his “open source” comment is to add a “will be” before it.

Don’t see the point in putting down the energy to dissmantle his post. He tried answering something that have grown out of proportion here.

It appears as though @InvokeStatic has disappeared, as there has been no new information regarding Husk either in this thread or on their own website, there is little reason for this thread to remain open.

Hence, if there are no official updates regarding Husk in the next two days, I will be locking this thread.
