🔑 PermissionsEx v2.0 [API 5]

MongoDB does not really provide us with any advantages, so there are currently no plans for a mongodb backend. The next backends on the list to be explored are a multi/grouping backend (store users in one place, groups in another and such), and a RethinkDB backend (seems to have some useful live updating features that would make life easier for multi server users)

anyone on here nice enough to make a perms config that i can use to config a server to give group default perms to use nexus.spawn home ect and /rp from redprotect just basic commands iv been having a hard time learning pex for this.

Look through the tutorial and the documentation for the plugins you’re using.

Wondering if someone can help me on this. For some reason admins can’t do any kit except /kit claim, and when I give someone 2 groups such as legendary+builder, they can use commands from both groups fine but not the kits that come with legendary. Here’s my perms http://pastebin.com/Q6xf3KVS

how do I edit my PEX config and switch it to file mode. Its not generating a permissions.json file

Thanks in advance.

You’re using an ancient version of Sponge. The latest 1.8.9 builds are in the 1600s – update both Sponge and Forge.

Hello thank you for the reply,
the problem i have is that, thats the recommended Forge build according to Pixelmon for their latest stable version.
Or would you still recommend me doing what you said eventhough they recommend an older build?
Thanks in advance

Checked in with the pixelmon folks, they’ve said just update – the forge build mentioned for pixelmon is just the one it’s built against. If that doesn’t work, it should be safe to update pixelmon’s build too.

Can confirm, the build listed on our downloads page is the minimum required Forge, we recommend always using the correct Forge for the latest SpongeForge

you have to import it, so while you’re on file mode, do /pex import default (which will import the ‘default’ perms into your current ‘default-file’)

Hello and thanks for this plugin first and foremost.

I was not having any issues with the plugin itself, however when adding EssentialsCmds and GriefPrevention(i think it’s essentials though) it will not allow me to do any group management.

For example when i do /pex group create Trainer as Admin with normally all commands available i get this.

And i think this started when i used the EssentialsCmds plugin, also my server console says this
Server thread/INFO [io.github.hsyyid.essentialcmds]: [Pixelhouse] executed command pex group create Trainer 09.08 11:21:48 [Server] Server thread

Is there something thats stopping pex from running the commands? I should have access to all commands because i moved to Admin group with all perms.

`“group”: {
“Admin”: [
{
“permissions-default”: 1
}
]
},

Thanks in advance`

Well the fact that that isn’t a command would certainly cause some issues, yes. You don’t create groups – just set up your configuration as if the groups you need already exist and you’ll be good.

Hello @zml I am attempting to port my server from 1.8.9 to 1.10. In doing so I am setting up the Pex on our 1.10 test server, the one thing I am currently finding very odd is that when I port everything over all of my ranks stay, but they do not remain assigned to the players. Is there a way for me to keep them assigned to the player when porting? Or will I have to manually add them to each player. Thanks for the help in advance!

Is one of the servers in offline mode? Almost nothing changed in PEX between 1.8.9 and 1.10.

Its a duplicate for my 1.8 world. So everything in my 1.8 is in my 1.10, but the ranks aren’t transfering to the players. The ranks are all there, I can apply them one by one but they arent applying the ranks they had before we transfered to 1.10

send your configs?

I found out that it was EssentialsCMD messing with it so I swapped to Nexus and the problem went away. So you can ignore this post.

I know this is probably an unusual question, but is it possible to color the player names as well as the prefix? example: &4[&6TEST&4]&6 (Making the name gold with color tag [TEST]).

I’m on the 1.8.9 - 4.10 version
