Newsletter Team Addition

If you couldn’t already tell by the pictures for this section, I am pleased to announce that @IronManDoesMC is the very first addition to the Team! Congratulations @IronManDoesMC! :tada: :confetti_ball: :tada: :confetti_ball:

As the 2nd member of the Team, I shall grant @IronManDoesMC the title of:

Assistant Director

Now lets get a glimpse of who he is!

Why and How did you come to sponge?
I came here through a chain of events, starting with the bukkit’s spill. The quick turn of events got me looking for a bukkit alternative, as I was very avid in the server-making realm, but only succeeding in finding a few rumours about this ‘Sponge’. I’d discovered the Sponge channel, and soon made my way to /r/spongepowered which got me looking at this marvellous website we have here today.

What do you have that’s special to the Newsletter team?
What do I have? Um… Quick wit!

What’s the story behind your username?
I was once extremely obsessed with the non-existent technology in the Iron Man superhero movies (J.A.R.V.I.S., the suits, IRL holograms) but I was watching the Youtuber ‘SkyDoesMinecraft’ at the same time. A little mish-mashing, and my forum handle was born. (I kinda regret it a bit, it’s too long.) If any of you are in the Sponge Skype Chat, then you might know that one of my former usernames was ‘code’ (actually, it was ‘[h6 style=‘font-family: Courier New’]code[/h6]’). Everyone there pretty much shortened it to ‘code’. (@Code is NOT me!)

What are your favourite hobbies?
My bestest hobbies are, coding, learning more about coding and running.

What’s you favourite part about Sponge?
The AWESOME community that’s out there :DD

What part of Sponge do you hate the most?
Any part that’s annoying.

Have you potato with a potato after a potato?
Yes, fried. Surprisingly.

Again and again we see @Inscrutable’s beautiful/nonsense posts :stuck_out_tongue:.
(If you are wondering, 465nm refers to a wavelength, which has the color of blue.)

I think I bought Minecraft when it was on 1.3.1… I don’t remember for sure, though. I had bought it for a project back in high school where we had to replicate parts of World War II in Minecraft.

Alpha 1.1 when I started playing

I purchased Minecraft on 5 April, 2011, corresponding to Beta 1.4_01, though I began playing in Beta 1.3. Honestly, best $20 that I’ve ever spent.

Was a long time ago now, but I bought the game when it was in beta 1.7.3

Got MC during the 1.3.2 release.

I’ve been playing minecraft since version 1.2, but I only bought it very recently, when 1.8 came out.

Dont spank me…

I don’t even know. It wass quite a few years back. But it was worth it

Digging deep into my scrambled memory, when first I played Minecraft, I recall snowballs and ice blocks that melted and never froze again. Worlds that always rained or snowed, leaves that didn’t decay. I had to look up the version on the Wiki, because I didn’t back up the jars back then. It was Alpha 1.0.5.
It took three or four months to get to playing multiplayer. Too many cool mods.

I joined when some friends showed me it over a year ago. I started playing at 1.5.2.

1.7.2 release. #LinuxMeACake

#UPDATE: INTERVIEW ADDED!!! <y u readin this?>

Started with a friends account during Beta 1.1/1.2, then migrated to my own account in Beta 1.4

I bought minecraft the day it switched to 1.0

I bought and first played MC on the 19th of January 2011. The version at that time was the last one without beds, which were added in beta 1.3… So the current version when I joined was 1.2

I bought Minecraft during Beta 1.6.6.
