When will Sponge API Version:5 come out?

When will Sponge API V:5 come out? I heard Sponge 1.9 will come with it? I want to make a Sponge server in 1.9 but I want to know when it will be out so I can do that. And final thing. Will Sponge API Version: 4 be updated to 1.9 for use because I want to know if I don’t have to wait for plugins to update to Sponge API Version 5. Thanks

  • SpongeAPI 4.X.X versions will only support Minecraft 1.8.9.

  • SpongeAPI 5.X.X also targets Minecraft 1.8.9 and will be released at some point in the future.

  • SpongeAPI 6.X.X is intended to be released with the Sponge update for 1.9.

Also, I’d like to point to this from our Rules:

Don’t ask when Sponge will be ready. It’ll be done when it’s done. When it’s done, don’t ask for updates. They come out when they come out. This is a general rule for all open source projects.

Please be patient, it’s coming soon.
