**Discontinued** Pore - A Bukkit-Sponge Bridge

This is a good question and one we’ve been considering recently. Currently, our official stance is that Pore is not guaranteed to be compatible in an environment with Forge mods. It will most likely remain this way for the forseeable future, since Forge mods can add things to the game that Pore is technically unable to handle (such as new entity types, biomes, etc.).

Well thanks I was planning on testing this kinda thing for myself but I want to know. What bukkit plugins work well with this so far?

Not entirely sure at the moment, I haven’t been too active in the project recently. I think that most of the features in Essentials should work. Generally, though, the simpler the plugin the more likely it is that it will work, and vice versa.

Would skript work? Some of skript?

What version of Bukkit is this in? Will it be updated as updates to bukkit come?

Is this working already?

@selfservice0 Some features, but likely not all, will work.

@SuperMarioCraft_Gam Currently, we’re synchronized with 1.8.8-R0.1. We intend to update to 1.9 in the near future.

@McGangsterFresh Not entirely, but partially.

Plugins like essentials, worldguard worldedit etc wll work?

as far as iv tested about 80% of essentials features work. some stuff like /spawn /tp and /tpa etc are bugged currently, as for worldguard it did not work when i tried. and worldedit i suggest just using the mod

Is there a list of bukkit plugins that work with pore?

That’s like asking if there’s a list of websites that don’t show up in search engines.
The only way to know is to test them.

Which version of bukkit api was it copied of?

I completely understand and you made wonderful points that make this understandable. I want to try and stop all the noooo’s and say read where the link takes you. It only takes 5 minutes. This was a good idea at start and I see why you tried to take Pore to this point. Sponge is growing bigger and bigger with new plugins every week. Sponge is not really usable for a big server and that time is perfect time for devs to write more plugins.

I just want to stop all the hate comments because no one likes those.

Thanks for understanding. It’s never easy to kill a project like this, but I’m hoping the rest of the community can be as understanding as yourself.

Commiserations, guys, and thanks for trying. It takes a serious dose of bravery (or insanity) to pursue a project like this, with constantly shifting goalposts. Sponge plugin devs must now rise to the challenge of diversifying the Sponge plugin ecosystem, with the prospect of using legacy systems finally put to rest. We shall see what the future brings…

In a way, I guess Pore was the last of the old system - and with it’s discontinuation, comes sadness yes, but also emphasizes Sponge’s new beginning. I believe the community can only take this as an incentive to work forward into diversifying Sponge and its plugin, and to those of us who aren’t developers, to commit to testing and suggesting new elements to make the existing plugins a lot more complete. To servers wishing for this project - know that often times, the risk of moving into unfamiliar territory might well give you your due of work.

Thank you, and farewell Bukkit.
