There are a fair few BungeeCord posts lying about that are out of date or are duplicates of each other, and have a lot of old or mis-information as many people don’t quite understand exactly how Bungee+Sponge do or don’t go together, and as a result, there are a lot of confusing posts about what people can and can’t do right now.
Since many servers these days consist of multiple instances brought together by the BungeeCord (or LilyPad) proxy, I was wondering how this would work with Sponge.
Will Sponge fully support clients connecting through Bungee and joining the server? Will Sponge create its own proxy system? How will Sponge deal with modded clients and Bungee?
Please leave suggestions and opinions on this as well.
Hello there!
I run my own network of servers using bungeecord, so im not exacly sure where to put this, if it is a plugin or not.
Do you think BungeeCord should be “ported” over? as on Chat, Portals, Warps, Bans etc?
your opinion?
Okay, so here’s the deal:
I am currently running a two-server setup with Bungeecord as a proxy. Our main server is a 1.7.10 Spigot server and our secondary server is a 1.7.10 Cauldron server. Now, I’ve understood that Bungeecord will be compatible with servers using Sponge, I just wanted to reaffirm that Sponge will support pass-through IPs (aka finding the true IP of the player connecting via Bungee) and UUID stability? (This is one of my main concerns)
Secondly, I would like someone to clari…
Hi,
at the begning many thanks for dev builds
i have a question becouse i need to setup new pixelmon network with 1.7.10 + 1.8 connected together by bungeecord.
with 1.7.10 i can still use cauldron but with 1.8 i would like to test with sponge and my question is is it possible to setup server with sponge with bungee support right now ? (even if it will be ultra experimental - i’m open to test) and i can give/share space for test’s :).
sorry if i duplicate the topic
I would like to see a proxy server like BungeeCord and I would like to see some BungeePortals, How will that work? Didn’t see it in the Google Docs.
Edit: Okay, I can understand that, disconsented. Does someone need to port BungeeCord Plugins like BungeePortals,
(Yes, I did said that before the edit. BungeePortals)
i have a question is SpongeServer will support BungeeCord ?
it will be possible to mix together Spigot and Sponge server with BungeeCord ?
I would quite like to know if Spigot are going to continue there forks of server mods (like CraftBukkit) because Spigot improved my server lots.
The latest post on Bungee + Sponge has probably got the most up to date information, but is still liable to become outdated:
I understand there is a VERY similar topic about this but I apologize for this but I found something missing. That topic
https://forums.spongepowered.org/t/how-will-sponge-work-with-bungeecord/ but I saw that’s a little outdated and I didn’t see the mention of SpongeVanilla. I saw that forge itself will be compatible with bungeecord and sponge being a mod for forge, it will handle sponge as it does other mods when sending to bungeecord. Now with SpongeVanilla would you need to create or have al…
There is already an issue on Github for adding Bungee to the docs: Add Bungeecord explanation · Issue #258 · SpongePowered/SpongeDocs · GitHub
I’m fairly busy for the next couple of weeks, but I’ll see if I can make time in the near to mid-future to help with documenting it.
